Preparing your stream desk
From source to stream

A clear path to your first broadcast.

IAmAStreamer coordinates the setup. Your server runs FFmpeg. Your streaming platform brings the audience. Here is how those pieces work together.

A practical first run

Four steps from setup to a test broadcast.

Move through the workflow at your own pace. The dashboard’s Getting started guide keeps these steps close at hand.

01

Connect your server

Register an existing Ubuntu or Debian VPS. Install its agent and review a fresh authenticated heartbeat.

02

Prepare your source

Upload a prerecorded video to your library. Check its size and choose settings that fit your server.

03

Choose destinations

Save the RTMP or RTMPS publishing details issued by each platform. Keep your stream keys private.

04

Start, then verify

Before you begin

A little preparation goes a long way.

  • A supported Linux VPSUbuntu or Debian, a supported CPU architecture, enough disk space, and FFmpeg for encoding.
  • An API reachable from the serverRemote agents need a public HTTPS endpoint. A local development URL cannot be used from a remote VPS.
  • A source and publishing permissionA prerecorded video you can broadcast, plus live access and publishing details from each destination.
Review the VPS checklist

Three signals to check separately

  • HeartbeatDid the agent recently authenticate and report in?
  • Process stateDid FFmpeg start, progress, fail, or stop?
  • Platform previewCan the destination receive and publish the expected video and audio?

Current schedules store planned times. They do not start broadcasts automatically.

Take the next step

Start small. Verify. Then build your routine.

Bring your server, source video, and destinations into one workspace. Start with a short test and grow from there.
